Tax Services
All U.S. citizens must report their income to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) each year. Living or earning income outside the United States does not relieve a US citizen of the responsibility for filing tax returns. Many Mexicans who work in the United States or derive income from U.S. sources are also required to file annual income tax returns with the Internal Revenue Service.
The American Citizen Services office at the Consulate receives a selection of federal tax forms and information booklets each year. You may come to the Consulate to pick up forms during business hours. Consular personnel cannot provide assistance in completing tax forms nor answer tax-related questions.
