Citizen Services

Who We Can Serve

Except for notarial services, we can only provide consular citizen services to U.S. citizens. In order to receive these consular services, every person must provide proof of citizenship and proof of identity. A U.S. passport provides proof of both citizenship and identity. A U.S. Certificate of Naturalization provides proof of citizenship and may provide proof of identity.

Other proofs of citizenship are: an original or certified copy of a U.S. birth certificate or a Consular Report of Birth Abroad. NOTE: Driver's licenses, Social Security cards, and voter registration cards are NOT proof of citizenship.

Other proofs of identity include any U.S. federal or state government photo identification.

Further information on acceptable documentation is available from the Bureau of Consular Affairs' passport information website by scrolling down to the section entitled "To Apply in Person for a US Passport".
